Club Scrap's "Short Sleeve Pants" are a great fit!

Club Scrap has a paper collection called "Short Sleeve Pants", I used it above to make this 12x12 layout. What does that name have to do with scrapbooking paper? Well, really nothing, but it's a cool combination of numeral and wallpaper type designs that don't necessarily "match" but do coordinate wonderfully!
This paper collection fits into my crafting needs wonderfully. The Short Sleeve Pants Paper Collection is very easy to work with.  Being on the design team at CS, I seem to always get projects made with Club Scrap's monthly kit releases, but this is a special addition collection and I don't always get things made with these cool extra collections.

The fun variety of prints, printed cutapart, and coordinating colors makes it a pleasure to craft with, so, since I haven't already and was long overdue, I just had to make a couple of things. I had a couple B&W pics left over from past projects and attached them over the layered up cardstock prints. The Big-N-Tall Upper Case UMs were perfect for the page title/border I thought. I stamped them individually in this case, then trimmed and attached to my page using the handy dandy grid ruler for help on spacing.

NEXT-
While I had the Short Sleeve Pants Paper Collection scraps on my table I kept crafting away. Next came this 4"x4" box with mini album inside.

Using the included printed cutaparts to add interest to my box lid and mini album cover worked well.

The fun prints look so neat put together in a mini album!

Fun prints like these save me a lot of stamping time, this mini album doesn't need much else, just some photos and journaling.

This paper collection is so fun to use for a little project like this, now I need to go fill it with fun pics, or maybe I'll save it as a gift for somebody else's pics and journaling, fun!  Gotta go.
Summer has arrived here in Wisconsin, yeah!
Thanks for looking,

Bridal Shower Gift - Handmade Music Box

I knew about my neice's bridal shower for over a month in advance, but of course waited until the night before to make my gift! However, I did have this - handmade music box structure wrapped with their engagement pictures - in mind as a gift well in advance. I think it turned out great, and she really seemed to like it lots! As I mentioned before, the outside is wrapped with the photos I took of the couple after their engagement. To make the photos wrap-able, I simply photo copied the photos onto the text weight paper available in those big copy machines at Kinkos.
Inside the box is plenty of room for photos, or a mini album, or anything she decides to place in it of course. The music mechanism plays "Fur Elise" which happens to be a song my daughter is playing at their wedding, so it's soooo appropriate, and I just like that tune anyway! The picture below shows the bottom of the box and the music box crank.

I did do a little rubber stamping on the decorative strip attached to the lid of the box, this stamp is from Club Scrap's Versailles collection. It's a long narrow stamp that contains the words "love, hope, moments, etc." so it was perfect for that spot.

It was so worth the time creating this little keepsake for my dear neice, she's the sweetest they come!

While I'm talking about music boxes, I have to mention the "Waltz Of The Flowers" music box kit Club Scrap now has in stock, (as of 05/10/12 anyway). These music boxes (more shown below) were all generated because of that fun CS class I did at last year's retreat, once I had the project all designed, I was still inspired to make more, AND glad there are still kits available so I don't have to hand cut all the pieces to create it like I did before we created the kit!!! Or, one could create their own box and install the "Fur Elise" music box mechanism Club Scrap has available on it's own (just the music box without the rest of the box kit).
Since I have plenty of pics handy of some of the other music boxes I've made, I'm wanting to add them here too, below is the music box we made during my class. The inside is wrapped with a printed black text weight paper, and the outside was cardstock printed with sheet music images - so you really can make it look any way you want it to.

I really enjoyed making this mini album to fit perfectly inside.

Then of course I couldn't resist actually wrapping the box with sheet music....

and below is the kit available, complete with the papers shown in the pic & the "Waltz Of The Flowers" music mechanism.
The inside can also be decorated differently also, I rubber stamped a coulpe favorite quotes on this paper before attaching it to the box insides.

So you can stick with the papers provided, or use photo copied pictures, or other paper from your stash - lots of options.

I do enjoy wrapping the box with photos as you can see, but then again, the cardstock wrapped box below is also a favorite. Well I'll just keep making more and have new favorites!

Well, hoping you're inspired to whip up a music box of your own!

Hope you have a musical day!
As always, thanks for looking!

String Art Handmade Album Cover

Come Sail Away
Ahoy Maties!!! As usual, I'm really enjoying my position here at Club Scrap Inc. designing projects! I really had a lot of fun creating this Month's Come Sail Away Club Stamp project - the Ship's Log String Art book (and hope you like it too). You remember the string art done with little nails and wood plaques right? It can be as elaborate or simple as you want it to be. Well I found that our little paper brads work well for wrapping the waxed linen thread around to create the string art sailboat on the front of this handmade mini ablum. With the included template (for hole piercing & stringing) in the April Club Stamp kit, it's smooth sailin'

After wrapping the matte board covers and rubber stamping on them, the stringing fun begins. Then a basic pamphlet is used to stitch in the inside pages, and the book is ready to fill with favorite quotes, journaling, sketches, rubber stamping and photos. Of course the Ship's Log project card that comes with the kit has great stepout pics and instructions to follow.

I couldn't seem to stop at just one album once I had the sailboat template that we've created for the kit in hand, so I made another album with the same template, but using other materials from my own stash of cool Club Scrap stuff. Just thinking of all the string art possibilities that could be used....

Instead of using a cardstock wrapped album cover, I used the Versailles Canvas to cover this album, rubber stamping on it first, and I just love the result! The canvas adds to the nautical feel of this handmade album. Here a pic of my stamped & stringed cover before adding the insides....

and then stamping on and adding the inside cover, (the Bon Voyage Anchor stamp came in handy with this ablum's theme)

and adding the holes and eyelets in the binding area for attaching inside pages.

Here I am adding inside pages, with that same simple pamphlet stitch,

I also enjoyed stamping and adding cruise photos to the inside pages,

Here is it, all completed and filled with photos, and memories.

Another hand crafted keepsake created!
Thanks for looking - wishing you sunny skies and smooth sailing!

Rubber Stamping & Spring Flowers Bloom Together

Concrete Remix
One of my favorite things to do this time of year is picking the spring blooms from my yard and bringing them inside to enjoy. However, the vase just doesn't look complete until a Club Scrap Rubber Stamped quote is attached to it! I used the Concrete Playground Remix quote today.

So adding this quote above.....

...to these flowers I picked this morning,

brightens ones day!

Here at Club Scrap Inc. the members and I are exposed to over 35 new rubber stamp images/quotes/words each and every month, (yes we put out more new rubber stamp images each month than any other company I know of!) so finding a quote that is appropriate to go on your vase of hand picked flowers for any occasion, whatever it may be, works out well.

Thanks for looking and enjoy your day,
Kay

Rubber Stamped Easter Eggs....Here Comes Peter Cottontail...

 easter chicks
Easter is almost here, but if you hop to it, time for Easter crafting remains!
easter chicks
I put together some fun Easter eggs using paper mache eggs that I picked up at Michaels Craft Store and the Easter Chicks UM stamps from Club Scrap of course!
easter chicks
The first step was grabbing some light weight paper for wrapping the eggs, any text weight will work well, so grab some copy paper or newsprint, anything cheep (get it?...cheep, cheep!) I cut mine into 4"x6" pieces, just make sure they are large enough to cover your eggs. Then color paper with sprays, color washes, stamping ink, anything you happen to have around - after dry, rubber stamp with Easter themed quotes and wishes, now you're ready for egg wrappin'.

Cut slits on both sides of the wrapping paper allowing the paper to wrap around the ends of the egg.

Then spread a nice layer of glue onto the backside of the wrapping paper, and attach to the egg.

Use your fingers to mold, press, squish and adhere the paper to the egg.

Add a little glue if it dried too quickly for you, like it did to me.  Also, I could have trimmed off the extra paper on the ends for easiler wrapping, you might as well make it easier on yourself.

Smooth out the paper against the egg to make sure there aren't many hidded air bubbles.

It's not a perfect looking thing for sure, but I think that's part of the charm of handmade stuff!

For a little added embellishment, I grabbed some of the fun colored waxed linen received from past CS monthly fibers paks, and wrapped the eggs with it.

Once the eggs were done, I found all kinds of places I could put them....

Of course there is the basket....but since I didn't want to have all my eggs in one basket heheeeeee I grabbed one of my Mom's canning jars, put a little moss on the bottom of it, and added the eggs.

The Easter Chicks UM stamp set has the perfect "Happy Easter" greeting for stamping a tag and attaching onto the opening of the jar.

I promise you won't end up with "egg on your face" if you do this little Easter project!

Wishing you a day that is sunny-side up, but most importantly, wishing you a blessed Easter!
