For The Love Of Quotes!

I did share my love for quotes in paper crafting on the Club Scrap Creates Blog back in September, but I wanted to do a bit of a repeat here, hoping you don't mind! Each month I look forward to the new quotes on the Club Scrap rubber stamps, cutaparts and diecuts while I cherish my old favorites.

 

I enjoy using kind hearted quotes in card making and scrapbooking...

 

I like using quotes around the house...

I'm not sure if you can see/make out this quote that hangs on my wall in the old printer's drawer, but it says "you're writting the story of your life, one moment at a time" I think it's one of my all time favs.  Here is another that sits inside that old drawer hanging on the wall...

 

There are a few fun quotes in this mosaic that hangs in my kitchen (I love it because it has all kinds of quotes in it).....

 

 

Looking back a bit at projects I've done here at Club Scrap, we've had silly quotes....

...and serious quotes,

quotes that are good advice..

and quotes that are well wishing.

I've used quotes on lots and lots of projects...

...on wood...

...on houses...

...on eggs...

...on canvas...

...in the cork of a bottle...

...inside a teeny bottle (does OX OX count as a quote?)

...rolled up and in a glass bulb for Christmas gifts...

...and, on a scroll as an ornament.

I've used quotes to decorate boxes...

....even if the box is in the shape of a flip flop.

Of course I've used rubber stamped quotes to decorate books, lots of books!

Large...

or small..

never underestimate the power of a quote!

Wooden It Be Nice?

Wooden pieces for mini album covers? It works.
Here at Club Scrap I'm always looking for fun paper crafting projects as well as ways to turn my projects into keepsakes and I think this is certainly one of those projects. These 5"x6" wooden pieces make nice mini album covers! Once again, a simple little thing found becomes a keepsake to me. Here are a couple of the wooden covered mini albums I've enjoyed putting together.

The wooden cover is a good rubber stamping surface.

The wood is soft enough to cut a window into on the front cover.

The wood can be easily colored with any color ink pad.

Now for a peek inside the kettle stitched pages....

I'll continue to fill them with photos, rubber stamping and other memories.

But, for those of you more curious about the construction, here are a couple stepout photos.

This is how easy it is to color and rubber stamp on the wooden pieces.

Then I kettle stitched together a block of pages to fit inside the wooden covers.

Then attached the wooden covers with book binding glue.

Wrapping the paper straps around the front and back covers gives the book pages more stability.

That's it in a nut shell, another fun creating process, but with wooden covers this time!

Paper Crafts Magazine World Card Making Blog Tour

In honor of World Card Making Day, I'm posting this fun shaker card, AND also because it's fun to be part of the Paper Crafts Magazine World Card Making Blog Tour!

A little about this card, it's a 5"x7" shaker card, with tiny glass beads that roll around on the inside, very fun, but there is some assembly required.

First I cut a 1/2" wide frame out of black to attach onto the Extra! Extra! Printed Transparency

Next is adding the foam tape onto the back,

 followed by pouring the micro glass beads inside.

The foam tape and 5x7 card body traps the mico beads inside.

Now for a little more embellishing to the card front.

By the way, for the paper used on the card body and for stamping this greeting on, I'm using Club Scraps 8.5 x 11 Orient Express Print, great background for this card!

OWH World Card Making Day Blog Hop

Creative Card Making Greetings to you on World Card Making Day!

What a thrill it is to be part of Operation Write Home's Blog Hop today, I enjoyed the Memorial Day Blog Hop and didn't want to miss this one.

I've always liked the look of a cheery red front door at holiday time, so I created a card with just that look.

I enjoyed making this gift tag using the Interior Design CST Grand Entrance Wood Mounted stamp. I've always enjoyed this stamp and was glad to work it into my winter/holiday card making blog here.

Of course there was some assembly required. Thinking a sketch wouldn't really be that helpful in this case, so I took a couple pics during the process. Hoping you don't mind seeing my messy work surface in the next couple pics. I stamped the door image twice onto white cardstock and once onto red.

After cutting out the red door, and the white area surrounding the door, I was ready to assemble.


Here is my dimensional holiday door.



I embellished the door with a Jesse James Dress It Up Holiday Collection mini cookie cutter and Glossy Accents. I think it looks pretty Christmassy.
