3D Tunnel Card Club Scrap London Calling

The 3D Tunnel Card Technique seems to be my favorite this week. I created one for the Club Scrap blog on Monday and couldn't keep myself from trying another one with the collage image from the Borders & Backgrounds UM. I also incorporated the car from the Art Nouveau UM into the mix!

This expanding card measures 6-3/8 x 5-1/8" and can be collapsed to 1/4" for mailing.

Six layers are stamped, colored and cut to create the 3D Tunnel effect.

The panels are then adhered to a pair of accordion folded papers.

Collage stamps are ideal for this 3D Tunnel Technique. Below is the tunnel card I made earlier this week using the Collection UM plate. It's the same . . . but different.

Valentine's Day Blog Hop

Hi, and welcome to my stop on Club Scrap's Valentine's Day Blog Hop!

Paper Quilting Card with Club Scrap's Love Ink Collection

To share the love going around today, I've made a a 6.25x9.25" oversized card featuring items from the Love Ink Collection with a paper quilting technique.

Some steps to help you make one of your own . . .

1. Cut a 5.75x8.75" art panel from the 12x12 Ivory Print. Use a 2" circle punch to punch twelve Ivory circles from the same print. Score 1/4" from the edge of a circle four times to create a square on each circle.

4. Fold on score lines. Alternatively, trim 1-3/8" squares and fold the punched circles around the squares to create four flaps. (Click HERE to see this version of the technique.)

5. Decorate a 1-3/8" square to insert within each punched circle.

6. Attach a row of three folded circles to the top edge of the art panel, then a 1" wide strip for your Valentine greeting, followed by three more rows of folded circles.

7.  Nest the art panel onto a matte and card base. The most important step: give it to someone who is really SA-WEET!

Before I go, one other little thing . . .

I used the Grafitti Mini Chalkboards to add a sentiment to this jar. I'll be using it to give flowers to my youngster, Marilee, on Valentine's Day. For more details on how to use Mini Chalkboards, check out the Club Scrap Blog HERE.

This will be adorable with a little greenery and red roses tucked inside.

Constellations Matchbox Library

Welcome to my "little" stop on the Club Scrap Constellations Blog Hop.

Miniature books made using Club Scrap Constellations papers and stamps.

I seem to be a "little" obsessed with miniature handmade books this month! It's like I'm "seein' stars" when I think of these mini book projects. The small scale galaxy print on the Constellations 8.5x11" White Text Weight Print (CST) was ideal for wrapping the covers. The smaller images on the Constellations Unmounted Stamps worked well for decorating for the front covers and inside pages.

Each mini book has its own special features.

It all started when I made this mini pamphlet stitch book to fit inside the 2-1/2 x 1-1/2" matchbox I had in my stash. (If you're interested in assembly instructions, check out the link for details.) I don't want to bore you with duplicate info, so I'm going to let the pictures do the talking.

I guess it just wasn't in the stars for me to create only one mini book.

For book #2, I created the world's smallest spiral bound notebook complete with a tiny library card holder attached to the inside cover.

Spiral binding created with needle, waxed linen thread, and wooden dowel.

Last, but not least...how cute is this tiny book with a nook built inside? I even got to incorporate the Constellations theme with a tiny bottle of glitter "star dust" inside!

It looks like I have a good start on a mini matchbox library. It will be fun to make more mini books with other Club Stamp Prints to add to my collection.

Talk about "light" reading!!! Ha!

Club Scrap Holiday Blog Hop

Welcome to my stop on the Club Scrap Holiday Blog Hop!

I used to think it was fun to be a kid at Christmas, but now I know it's even more fun having a kid at Christmas! The pictures I took of Marilee last year show just that. She was so excited to open her presents and this layout preserves that moment for me.

I used the I'll Be Gnome for Christmas Collection for this 12x12" Christmas Morning page. It features wallet-sized photos and a Christmas tree embellishment made from the Gnome Cutaparts and stamped paper scraps.

Here is a bit about how Santa's Elf put this page together.

1. Hand cut a tree trunk from Dark Green and attach a paper strip to create a base for the tree measuring 10" from the base of the trunk to the top. Run adhesive along the strip.

2. Center the 5.5" "Merry Christmas" cutapart to the bottom of the strip.

3. Center additional strips onto the Green base until it is filled. Alternate with colored papers and portions of the printed cutaparts. Don't worry about the edges aligning perfectly until the next step.

4. Trim the tree at an angle from the outside edge of the "Merry Christmas" cutapart to the top of the Dark Green strip. You may find it helpful to identify the center of the Dark Green strip; trim to 3/4" to the left and right of the center mark.

5. Rotate the tree to place it upside down into the trimmer and repeat alignment process to create the same angle on the other side of the tree.

Bottom corner of the cutapart is on the edge of the blade.

6. To finish the tree, matte with Dark Green and attach a hand-cut star.
