Scandinavian Holiday Linky Party

Happy Holidays!

Welcome to my stop on the Club Scrap Scandinavian Holiday Linky Party.

Creating handmade cards is one of my favorite ways to celebrate the season!

Today I am sharing my holiday cards created with the Scandinavian Holiday Rubber stamps

Keep your holiday greetings simple, but sweet. Let me show you how.

CARD #1

Apply Carnation, Ocean and Leaf Inks to the ornament stamp. Embellish with a waxed linen thread bow on the top of each ornament.

CARD#2

Stamp the tree trio in Leaf ink. Embellish with tiny, multicolored gem stickers.

CARD #3

Add a red gem to the stamped reindeer nose to create an instant Rudolph.

Foam Adhesive Circles add a little dimension to the belt on this card front.

CARD #4

Add a colorful little pop with a marker in all the open areas of the stamped bird.

CARD #5

Circle cut an opening through the card front and pane. Suspend a 1" circle punched snowflake with waxed linen thread inside the opening.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you!

Orchard Blog Hop

Welcome to my September stop on the Club Scrap Orchard Blog Hop! Click HERE to start at the beginning of this fruity hop.

Today I've created a 6x6" any occasion greeting card featuring the Orchard Stamps.

The fruit was stamped with India Black Ink then colored with watercolor pencils. I adhered the 1-3/4" squares to the card panel with Foam Circles for added dimension.

The watercolored panel was created with one of my favorite techniques. The mottled background technique was featured in both the Pattern Play Blog HERE and the Vintage Botany Blog HERE.  Please check those out if you'd like more details on this technique.

I like having a few pretty any occasion cards handy, and this one is ready for the pickin'.

Next on the hop is Lilian at The Leaf Studio, enjoy!

Celebrate Love Pop-Up Card

Welcome to my stop on the Club Scrap Celebrate Kit Blog Hop. If you just came from Lilian at The Leaf Studio you're right on track. Visit the Club Scrap blog to view the rest of the hop and linky party.

With Valentine's Day right around the corner, I've put together this happy pop-up card. The Celebrate collection, complete with the "Thinking Of You" and "love" stamps, was perfect for this project.

I used the Club Stamp Quad Print to create the panels for the front of the card.

Card created with Club Stamp Celebrate Quad Print
The pop-up template was one of the first things I pinned on Pinterest. (Search "I love you pop up card" to find all kinds of ideas.) After printing the template, place onto an inner card panel to cut solid lines with craft knife and score dotted lines with a bone folder.

Next, pop up the letters, fold along score lines, and embellish! (My favorite part.)

I hope you are able to celebrate Valentine's Day with a few creative paper projects from the Celebrate kit.

Snapshot Valentine Cards

A couple photo prints converted into Valentine's Day cards seemed like a cute idea, so why not?
First I snapped a couple pictures of the Conversation Heart Candy that we all know and enjoy seeing this time of year, then laid them out on black cardstock near a window with natural light and took a few pictures of them.  I printed 2 each of the prints I wanted to make cards from, because I needed 2 prints of the same picture (one for the background and one for cutting up).

I picked out a couple hearts in the print to cut around and started trimming out.

Then a little black ink on the cut edges really helps hide trimming imperfections.

Then a couple foam squares are needed for attaching the trimmed out heart directly on top of the same hearts on the background photo. So these hearts will pop up a bit after being attached.

Then I matted the photo and attached onto my card, of course stamping on the inside of the card with one of Club Scraps  Love Blooms UMs.

While I was at it, what not do another?  For the next card I used a different print and trimmed out 3 hearts.

Here they are finished. Cute Valentine cards I think.

Just kind of a fun way to use your photography (and a little rubber stamping on the inside) in Valentine's Day card making. However, just looking at them makes my sweet tooth act up. Off to the candy jar (were I put all the candies after photoing them, they served two purposes here).
Thanks for looking,
Kay
