Christmas Tree Ornaments PART: 2

Season's Greetings!
Hoping this busy time before the holidays is going well for you. I've managed to get a few more ornaments made for the tree that I'd like to share if you actually have the time to look. Every year, I make an ornament using a pic from the prior Christmas. Using the current year's picture would be just to proactive for me, I'm just glad to get something on the tree from every year, up to last year that is :) 

The "mini album inside the tin" is the photo ornament I made this year.

Last year after Christmas I found a handful of these mini lunch box tins at Home Depot in the after holiday clearance bin. Well of course I thought they were cute and that I could make little albums for the insides.

Using waxed linen thread, I kettle stitched this mini album together that easily fits inside the tin. Of course after I rubber stamped the inside pages with my collection of holiday themed stamps from Club Scrap.

The mini album is filled with little pictures from last Christmas (Walgreens collage prints work well for this purpose, putting several little pics on the same 4x6, cheap and easy).

The mini cookie cutters tied to the handle is the perfect finishing touch.

The tin will keep this mini album in great condition over the years, I'm hoping my family enjoys looking through it each year we get out the Christmas decorations.

Moving on to the matchbox ornament, I think it's so darn cute.

I had the premade matchboxes from when Club Scrap sold them in GHM with the Fossils kit (but that was a long time ago), for now one could certainly make their own or find them in the craft stores I would think.

As you can see my first step was wrapping with old dictionary papers.

It's so cute just like this, covered with old book pages, but thought I should add an acrylic paint wash. Blue for the sky and white for the snow.

Then I folded and cut up some of my little paper scraps (no large sheets of uncut paper were injured in this project) to make tiny houses.

I used the "Peace On Earth" stamp from Club Scrap's 2012 WOW Holiday stamp sheet for the little banner above the houses, attached with foam squares to add dimension.

Of course, glitter glue was a "must have".

Then adding a ribbon on the top of the outside sleeve works for a hanger. I would love to make more of these cutties, but need to get a little Christmas shopping done first LOL.

Now, this "Christmas wish in a bottle" only takes a couple minutes.

Just roll up the stamped or handwritten Christmas wish...

...put it inside the bottle. I used waxed linen thread for creating the hanger.  Easy one :)

Oh, and one other little tidbit. At Club Scrap we just put this 12x19 Ivory Text weight paper online (in my opinion, one can never have enough ivory text weight paper for projects) heheee. One side is printed with the Club Scrap logo, but the other side is great for stamping on and creating your very own altered wrapping paper. I had a little fun with it here wrapping a gift.

The possibilities are endless with this ivory text weight paper, and you can get 5 sheets for only a buck, enjoy!

Handmade Holiday Door Card

Season's Greetings to you!
Hoping you don't mind me sharing one of my favorite cards of the week - The Holiday Door Card!

Using one of my favorite Club Scrap stamps again (Interior Designs Grand Entrance Stamp) I made this single red door card some time ago, well, I just had to make another card using this fun stamp. It's the same concept but a little different look.

This card is a business envelope size, so I had room to make a little neighborhood of colorful front doors along with a greeting from this year's WOW Holiday Unmounted Stamps.

Here is how I put it together if you happen to have this stamp, plan on getting it, or have something similar.

Stamp the door and greeting onto card panel.

Then pick three colors for the contrasting doors from paper scraps, stamp and cut out only the doors. Attach the doors with double sided adhesive.

Now, anyone in their right mind would have stopped here, but I seem to like more dimension when possible.

So, I stamped the door three more times onto white cardstock, using a craft knife and grid ruler, I trimmed out only the door frame and attach with mini foam squares.

I've always like houses with cute red doors, that must be why this holiday card is so fun! As always, thanks for stopping by and hoping your holiday pre-season is going well.

Handmade Ornaments

Greetings!

Happy belated Thanksgiving.Trusting you all had a nice holiday and got to spend time with family and friends.

I'm starting to think about what Christmas ornaments I'm going to be making for the tree.  Check out a few ornamements I've made in the past (that's if you aren't too busy Christmas shopping already).

Why not put your favorite rubber stamped quotes on the tree? I found clear glass bulb ornaments at my local craft store, and had to grab a couple for adding Club Scrap rubber stamp quotes into. Then embellished a teeny bit with the mini cookie cutters received along with Club Scrap's WOW Holiday Shipment
Of course it's as easy as it looks.

Just rubber stamp on text weight paper and roll cut-out quote around something round, I used a wooden dowel.





Fun, easy to make if you have the stuff, and a cute gift idea!

Next I stamped  litte tiny sheet music to create this book ornament (stamps are from Club Scrap's 2011 WOW Holiday). Another easy fun one to make since I happen to have lots of rubber stamps and paper!


The next two ornaments are really just rubber stamped quotes held in place with wooden dowels.




Who doesn't like little paper houses that light up on the tree? It's a little bit of time spent with a craft knife & grid ruler to make one from scratch, but you can make one as simple or fancy as you like. 
Cute as can be!!!


Club Scrap used to have these empty pocket watches available for altering, but I know they are still available other places. I just added our little family pic inside and then added a snowy look with Glossy Accents and white glitter. Then followed up with other embellishments complete with a tiny bottle containing unmelted snow inside heheee.

Since these are done, I still have time for making more before Christmas.

For The Love Of Quotes!

Fabulous Friday wishes to you!

I did share my love for quotes in paper crafting on the Club Scrap Creates Blog back in September, but I wanted to do a bit of a repeat here, hoping you don't mind! Each month I look forward to the new quotes on the Club Scrap rubber stamps, cutaparts and diecuts while I cherish my old favorites.

 

I enjoy using kind hearted quotes in card making and scrapbooking...

 

I like using quotes around the house...

I'm not sure if you can see/make out this quote that hangs on my wall in the old printer's drawer, but it says "you're writting the story of your life, one moment at a time" I think it's one of my all time favs.  Here is another that sits inside that old drawer hanging on the wall...

 

There are a few fun quotes in this mosaic that hangs in my kitchen (I love it because it has all kinds of quotes in it).....

 

 

Looking back a bit at projects I've done here at Club Scrap, we've had silly quotes....

...and serious quotes,

quotes that are good advice..

and quotes that are well wishing.

I've used quotes on lots and lots of projects...

...on wood...

...on houses...

...on eggs...

...on canvas...

...in the cork of a bottle...

...inside a teeny bottle (does OX OX count as a quote?)

...rolled up and in a glass bulb for Christmas gifts...

...and, on a scroll as an ornament.

I've used quotes to decorate boxes...

....even if the box is in the shape of a flip flop.

Of course I've used rubber stamped quotes to decorate books, lots of books!

Large...

or small..

never underestimate the power of a quote!
